Turntable steer trailers
....for safety and stability |
| |
For most 6 metre long exhibition trailers (those built to maximum weight or with uneven load distribution) and certainly all 7 metre special trailers we use and recommend a turntable steer chassis. This has a single axle positioned to the rear of the trailer and a single axle on turntable to the front.
Maximum length for this type of trailer on over run braking is normally 7 metres although, under certain circumstances, we do build longer than this.
The 7 metre turntable steer exhibition trailer is the "work horse" of the road show industry offering enough weight and stability to be ideal for exhibition, hospitality and other specialist uses. We can fit them with extension stages and extension pods, display panels and many other features including generators and air conditioning.
We have even built roof viewing balconies with built in stairways onto this type of trailer.
A turntable steer trailer requires an appropriate 4x4 or van as the tow vehicle and is by far the easiest and safest trailer type for towing. The only downside being that the art of reversing does require a bit of practice.
We have recently built a pair of such trailers for the Royal Navy. What makes these unusual is that they have been designed to operate individually at smaller events but, for major shows, can link together to form one much larger exhibition unit. A great idea for those wishing to operate at events ranging from local to international.
