New mobile showroom for Baker Furniture

Having completed a number of mobile showrooms for the furniture industry we were approached by the well know Middlesbrough based Baker Furniture company to provide a mobile showroom for their sales team to use.  Based in a 7500 kgs ex Mobile Library our conversion created a perfect facility for displaying the companies latest product ranges around the country.

New Health Check Vehicle completed

This new 3500 kgs health check vehicle, based on a Citroen Relay back to back chassis cab fitted with an Al-ko chassis, has been the first of our vehicle builds to require Individual Type Approval under the new EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval Scheme. Another first for us.

Clicknow4jobs roadshow vehicle

A new web site aimed at the jobs market was launched to the public via a fully refurbished mobile library. The Launch event which took place in Manchester made use of a vehicle specifically fitted out with a range of computers and desks at which those interested could try out the new web site.

BFI Sci-fi spectacular at British Museum

Once again we have been asked to supply a trailer from our hire fleet to support the unique and ever popular outdoor film event held each year in the grounds of the British Museum in central London. Together with students we made a great persuasive essay about this Museum.

Jorvik Centre in York hires promotional trailer for summer exhibition

The internationally renowned Jorvik Centre in York wanted to promote their latest exhibitions and to do so hired a 7 metre exhibition trailer for the whole of the Summer period. Positioned in the very centre of York for the key holiday months the trailer provided a perfect information base for tourists whilst also containing a display of valuable and important artifacts.

A fantastic conversion is completed

Clients Tinc, a specialist stationery supplier based in Melksham, Wiltshire and with a growing chain of shops around the UK have just taken delivery of a very special and somewhat unique vehicle conversion.  A 1960s French Citroen H type pick up truck has been converted into a mobile shop and promotional vehicle in a style which represents the corporate identity.

New 6 metre trailer for leading oven supplier delivered

A new 6 metre turntable steer exhibition trailer featuring a hinge up canopy and hinge down platform has just been completed and delivered to Everhot Ltd, a leading manufacturer of quality ovens.  Complete with full vinyl graphics wrap the trailer is based on a successful FREEWAY trailer design for promoting and demonstrating this type of product.What makes this trailer particularly special is that it became the first one of our trailer builds to require an IVA (Individual Vehicle Approval) inspection and test under the new EU Whole Vehicle Type Approval Scheme.

Export order to Senegal 

We have just exported an exhibition trailer to clients in Senegal.  This 7 metre turntable steer trailer features an extension pod, to the offside and gull wing extension to the nearside providing a large internal and external area.  The trailer is to be used for health promotion amongst young women.

And another Mobile Veterinary Surgery goes out 

Another of our mobile veterinary surgeries has just been handed over to a veterinary practice in Colchester who are delighted with the quality and appearance of their new venture.  The surgery features operating table, anaesthetics, scales, cage ....along with other equipment as well as storage and washing facilities.  Built within a Citroen Relay van the vehicle conversion includes air conditioning and heating.

Major articulated trailer refurbishment completed for LAMMA

We were tasked with transforming a standard refrigerated trailer for Krone with an existing single opening into an inviting and more practical exhibition and hospitality trailer.  This we did by cutting out the side of the trailer in fitting it with a gull wing extension consisting of hinge up canopy and drop down platform.  Glazed patio doors across the opening providing an all weather internal environment without blocking light or vision.  The whole trailer was vinyl wrapped and a specially printed skirt fitted.  A major transformation achieved.

The Matthew Project in Norfolk

The Matthew Project based in Norwich has just taken delivery of a 6 metre tandem axle trailer which has an extension pod to provide maximum floor space within such a trailer.  Fully glazed along one side the trailer has been designed to provide a really welcoming mobile centre for young people to meet and chat together.  Inside we have created a wow factor using mirrored ceiling and LED lighting.

Community Activity Teams

We have just completed the conversion of two second hand vans into mobile Community Action Team vehicles for CXK in Kent.  These vehicle provide invaluable services to the young people in urban and rural location throughout the county.  We have built in storage space, seating and catering facilities to enable young folk to enjoy their very own youth club as if it were a permanent building.

Second hand trailer and vehicle services 

Our second hand trailer and vehicle services came in handy for two of our clients recently when we were able to help one sell their mobile youth centre to the other.  YESU based in Norfolk were keen to sell their mobile outreach bus having recently been able to find a permanent youth base.  CXK based in Kent were looking for just such a bus conversion and we were delighted to put the two together.  The bus was originally built by us for use in motorsport and has given great service to all owners.

A new build 4 metre tandem axle exhibition trailer was completed and delivered to Newcastle for the UK's leading plant hire company.

Church on the Bus 

Although we are a small company we like to give as much support as we can to charitable and not for profit clients and in particular we aim to support faith based charities and animal rescue and welfare organisations. I most recent work has been the conversion of a coach for Church on the Bus who are based in Chesterfield and who provide a range of valuable services to the homeless in the Derbyshire area.  The bus conversion includes seating area, food server and even clothing wardrobes for males and females.

Broadland Council take delivery of 4 metre tandem axle trailer 

As part of the Governments Green Energy agenda we have just produced a 4 metre demonstration and information trailer for Broadlands Council in Norfolk. This exhibition trailer features swing out display panels and hinge up canopy with a visually stunning external vinyl graphics wrap.  Inside the trailer is fitted out with a range of energy saving systems but the most impressive feature is a roof mounted solar panel which is raised into display position by hydraulics.

Mobile Veterinary surgery for the Isle of Wight 

Another mobile surgery has just been handed over to a young vet on the Isle of Wight. Trading as the Mobile Vet the business has taken off at a rate of knots with demand on the island outstripping Dan Forster's time.  He puts this down to a simple but practical mobile surgery from which he can provide a wide range of veterinary services at pet owners own homes.  The Surgery has been built into a Renault master van which had previously been used within the NHS.

From Mobile Library to furniture Showroom

We maintain a wide range of ex mobile libraries and use these as base units for conversion to many uses.  Recent conversions have been into training rooms, energy conservation displays and retail units.  Most recently we have transformed a standard library into a high end trade showroom for Ashley Manor, one of the countries leading manufacturers of beautiful furniture. This mobile showroom now travels the length and breadth of the country.

Another mobile showroom for Windhorse

The ethically sourced products company, Windhorse, has just taken delivery of yet another of our mobile showrooms.  These are based on the Renault Master which is proving to be a great workhorse (no pun intended!) for the Company.  The mobile showroom is fitted out with display walling, shelves and drawers and is illuminated by LED lighting.  An on board heating and air conditioning system makes the showroom comfortable for clients throughout the year.

Information trailer to promote energy saving 

Just completed and delivered is a small van towable information trailer designed specifically for use in town and village centres for Marches Energy Agency in Shrewsbury.  A 3 metre single axle trailer it features a hinge up canopy with swing out display panels.  The design allows for flat screen and literature displays along with storage for display equipment.

An amazing transformation

We have just completed an amazing transformation of an unloved and uncared for mobile library and turned it into a sleek and modern mobile display room for Perfect Colours, a specialist in the field of high quality printers. By stripping out the interior dark and stained carpeting on floor and walls and then replacing this with a matt white finished aluminium panelling we have created a totally fresh image.

Government energy programme increases demand for information trailers

March 2013:  The month of March has been a busy one with a number of trailers completed and in build to support the governments new green deal programme. 

A unique vehicle for the Royal Berkshire Hospital

February 2013:    A very special vehicle which has been in build for more than the average amount of time was completed this month for the NHS Royal Berkshire Hospital. This has been a unique build with many special and unusual features included.  Powered exclusively on battery power this contains a special sound booth for standard hearing tests and has also been kitted out for young children and babies.  Two rooms make this the most versatile mobile audio testing vehicle within the whole fo the NHS.

And during the month we also found time to move to our new factory in Empingham, Rutland whilst also completeing an exciting bus refurbishment for Centro in Brimingham.

Another veterinary ambulance delivered

January 2013:  There has been no let up in production with vehicles as diverse as a new animal ambulance and a new mobile training centre both being delivered to clients this month. The animal ambulance was specially designed to provide aid an assistacne to injured police dogs whilst our latest mobile trainign centre is now in use within the public sector.

Fantatsic demonstration vehicle built to promote TECTITE

December 2012:  This month saw the completion of a mobile showroom based on an 65C Iveco Daily chassis cab for the Pegler Yorkshire group.  This vehicle has a 6 metre body with hinge up canopy opening up to a full glazed nearside. Swing out display panels add to the on site presence but it is inside that the visitor becomes seriously impressed.  A number of specially manufactured working test rigs demonstrate the many unique featutres of Tectite pipe fittings.

And just as one demontration vehicle leaves another mobile showroom is also completed.  This one was for Perfect Colours in London who are main distributors for Hewlett Packard printers

Mobile Dental Laboratory completed

November 2012:    At Freeway we tend to specialise in the design and construction of experiential marketing trailers and vehicles but every so often a challenging project comes along in another field, and we just enjoy the challenge.  This month saw us complete the build and fit out of a "same day" Mobile Dental Laborarory.  This is now operational in Soth West London where it provides a dental service of which there is no other in the country.

November also saw us completing yet another Game Wagon on schedule for the run up to the Christmas games market.

Full order book provides a great last quarter for a highly successful year

October 2012:      The recession may be coming to an end but for us 2012 has been a very good one with both of our factories working at maximum capacity throughout the year. We are now starting the last quarter with a full order book. Orders include a number of new chassis cab conversions, van conversions and refurbishments.  

Casino Group chooses Freeway to Launch and promote new night clubs

September 2012:     We have recently supplied a 7 metre trailer for use by a leading night club group to promote a new venue and build up memberships.  For use in a number of northern cities this features a 60 inch screen

Another Gaming vehicle completed

September 2012:    Using our experience in the installation of games into mobiles we have been contracted to build a fleet of gaming vehicles for Gamewagon.  These are based within extra long wheel base Mercedes Sprinter vans and feature a total of 5 screens on which over 20 gamers can be playing at any one session.

British Film Institute

August 2012:    Our relation ship with the BFI goes back over 20 years.  On this occassion we have provided one of our 7 metre hire trailers as a reception centre for the launch of a range of re-digitised Hitchcock movies.

Two new mobile showrooms leave us this month

July 2012:    This month has seen us complete and deliver two very different types of chassis cab based mobile showrooms. The first has gone to Windhorse who sell ethically sourced products to a variety of retailers throughout the country.  We normally supply them with Mercedes chassis cabs but on this occassion the client is trying out a Renault Master Cab.

Salamander Pumps based in Sunderland have just taken delivery of their new Freeway Mobile Demonstration Showroom in which we feature a full working pump with taps and shower head. Again this is based on a 3500 kgs chassis cab to allow the widest possible range of drivers.

Royal British Legion chooses Freeway for refurbishment

June 2012:  We have just completed a very extensive refurbishment of a 9 metre light weight articulated trailer for the Royal British Legion.  This involved a complete strip out of the trailer with complete rebuilt.

Another two trailers shipped to Ireland

June 2012:   Our export orders continue to flow with another two trailers having been shipped (closer to home this time)  to Ireland. this included one 7 metre turntable steer trailer and one full articulated unit.

Great outreach vehicle supplied to Gravesend

May 2012:     We have just delivered a fabulous 3500 kgs chassis cab outreach vehcile to G-Safe in Gravesend who will be using it to the benefit of the whole community to provide help and advice on security within the town centre along with aid and advice on health issues.

 F1 Games Racing Trailer

May 2012:     We have recently completed a very unusual 7 metre trailer which features 12 gaming modules which enables gamers to race against one another on a wide range of racing tracks.  This is ideal for use at corporate events and has proven a big hit at touring cars and other race meetings. Based on a 7 metre turntable steer chassis this trailer features an extension pod and nearside gull wing extension.

Exports not to be forgotten!

April 2012:    Our first export order for this year will be leaving shortly. In the past we have exported to many countries within the EU and some outside. Our aim is to increase our overseas business in the coming years. With offices and staff based in Holland we are ideally placed to provide a truly international service.

Specialist vehicle order

April 2012:     Whilst we are forever plugging our experstise in the design and build of exhibition trailers and vehicles we sometimes forget to mention our skills at other more specialist and techical vehicles.  We are therefore really pleased to have been selected to build a range of very specialist high tech survey vehicles for a major international client.

Another 6 metre Exhibition Trailer in build

March 2012:   We are delighted to have been chosen to build a new trailer promoting high end log burning stoves.  We have quite some experience on building working fires into trailers.

New trailer for the National Trust

March 2012:    A new and rather unusual trailer goes into build for The National Trust.  This small 4 metre trailer is going to prove very eye catching when it goes out on tour.

February 2012:    Lots of orders coming in for refurbishment work.  We always love the excitement of preparing tried and trused vehicles and trailers for the new season.

 New Animal Ambulance built for use in Liverpool

February 2012:    Another Freeway Trailtrek animal ambulance hits the streets.  This time it is a compact model in a Bipper for The Pet Collector who will be rescuing and transporting animals in the liverpool area.

November 2011:   A rather unique vehicle goes into build for the leading designer goods retailer Cath Kidston.  This will feature a unique external design to create maximum impact at venues and on board will be a full display and sales area. This vehicle will commence attending events from early 2012

New mobile showroom for leading furniture company

October 2011:   Freeway Trailers Ltd have sourced a secondhand mobile library for conversion to an exciting mobile showroom for Corndell Furniture, who are one of the UK's leading designers and manufacturers of quality furniture.

Another mobile showroom in build

September 2011:   We have another mobile showroom in build that is designed to carry more than 1000 products on display.  This showroom, for Windhorse, will also contain heating and air conditioning for trade clients to feel comfortable all year round. 

New Equine Diagnostic Vehicle for Towcester Veterinary Centre 

August 2011:   This month sees the start of work on a mobile equine diagnostic mobile for Towcester Veterinary Centre, who offer a specialist equine service. 

New trailer for Leica Geosystems Ltd

July 2011:  Leica Geosystems Ltd have ordered a new 3 metre trailer from Freeway Trailers Ltd.  This small trailer has been designed specifically to be car towable and easy to set up.  First event will be SALTEX. 

New 7 metre trailer for Terex

July 2011:  Terex have commissioned the build of a new 7 metre trailer with entrance platform and canopy, extension pod and luxury interior fit out.  This trailer willl be a 3500 kgs model with 7 metre body length. 

New service supplying ex mobile libraries

July 2011: Due to the shortage of suitable second hand vehicles for conversion we have this month introduced a new service specialising in sourcing and stocking ex mobile libraries. These range from 4500 kgs to 14 kgs models

Refurbishment for "New Hope" 

June 2011:  Over the years we have undertaken a wide range of jobs for Faith based charities for whom we either supply new or second hand vehicles for their charitable work. In this instance, we are refurbishing and repairing a vital outreach vehicle for the New Hope Church in Leeds.

5 metre trailer for Kingston Communications

May 2011:  This month we have completed a very versatile 5 metre tandem axle exhibition trailer for Kingston Communications designed to promote the broadband services offered by the Company. 

Another export project

April 2011: Each year we export a number of specilaist exhibition trailers to the EU and further afield.  This month has seen us find a suitable 10 metre articulated trailer for a client in Poland.   

A really unusual Pinzgauer

March 2011:  Even for us this is an unusual brief.   A client has asked us to remove the existing body of his vintage Pinzgauer and replace it with a fully insulated panel body with shaped front. This then being transformed into a mobile multi purpose vehcile and camper.

A major rebuild and refurbishment project 

February 2011:   Freeway Trailers Ltd has been tasked with the job of re-designingand refurbishing the 13.6 metre exhibition trailer belonging to Cummins Ltd. This work will include a complete rebuild of the galley area and the installation of a new display space.  At the same time repairs are to be made to the upper viewing gallery.

New 7 metre trailer commissioned for the Central office of Information

January 2011: A Freeway 7 metre turntable steer trailer with extension pod and platform has been orered for use by the Central Office of Information. The trailer is to form a key part in the presentation of the proposed high sped rail link between London and Birmingham.


Large mobile shoowroom based on a DAF 15 Tonne truck

November 2010:  For this client we have created an unusual rear entry design whereby entrance steps slide out enabling visitors to walk up onto a small veranda before passing into the showroom via full width patio doors.  The showroom features a decorative suspended ceiling with recessed spot lights highlighting the elctronic equipment on display against the walls.

Another specialist TRAILTREK animal welfare vehicle

October 2010: Our TRAILTREK range of animal wlefare vehicles is proving to be a hit within the animal welfare world and this month sees the addition of a mobile gromming vehicle to the range.  Built for Wuffers it is based in a Vauxhall Movano long wheelbase high roof van. 

A most unusual commission

September 2010: Work has started on one of our more unusual commissions.  We have been tasked with a project to convert an ex Woolworths delivery trailer into a luxury lakeside cottage. We have started to do this by reducing overall height (to comply with local planning regulations) and then manufactured a shaped roof to add character. Twin extension pods are being fitted to provide a large internal floor space. There is to be an open plan living and dining area linked to separate bathroom and bedroom.

New veterinary surgery for Carrottops Rabbit Rescue
August 2010: Freeway Trailers delivered its latest Trailtrek Mobile Veterinary Surgery to Gloucestershire based animal rescue charity Carrottops Rabbit Rescue. Based on a second hand Long Wheel Base Ford Transit the surgery is fully fitted to facilitate a wide range of surgical procedures.

It will be used in the County to provide affordable veterinary care to those on limited means with animals in need of veterinary assistance.

New training vehicle for SLIC training
July 2010: Another Freeway Training Vehicle has been completed, this one a box body build on an Iveco Daily chassis 35C13 chassis cab. The client is Chesterfield based training company SLIC Training.

The vehicle is different to most that Freeway produce in that the cab is integral to the body, featuring swivel seats this offers more seating in a small area.

Equipment included in the vehicle is a plasma screen with smart board attachment plus and all important drinks dispensing machine designed to keep students refreshed and wake!

New demonstration vehicle for Firebird Boilers
June 2010: Market leading boiler manufacturer and supplier Firebird has just taken delivery of their new mobile demonstration vehicle which is based upon a Fiat Ducato 35 maxi cab. Created to enable a maximum of 4 boilers to be displayed the vehicle also has a built in demonstration solar panel.

This is a working display and hot water is generated for visitors to experience the boilers in action. Touring builder sand plumbers merchants the vehicle will be active throughout the country.

Dogs Naturally order new mobile shop
June 2010: One of our more unusual challenges! Dogs Naturally have just taken delivery of their new lightweight mobile pet shop. Based on a single axle trailer chassis this sales trailer will be visiting venues throughout the west midlands. It features swing out shelving displays with canopy and even has a separate stock room.....but fold up small enough to be car towable!

Double deck trailer supplied to 02
June 2010: When communications giant 02 needed a double deck trailer in a hurry there was not time to contemplate building one for them. Freeway used its extensive European resources to locate the ideal trailer in Spain and arranged viewing and transport to the UK. The trailer was then fully fitted out and externally wrapped and on the road in record time.

It is now travelling throughout the country on a massive nationwide roadshow campaign.

East Anglian based training company buys fleet of vehicles from Freeway Trailers
June 2010: Poultec Training based in Mattishall, Norfolk, has just taken delivery of 3 training vehicles. The first is to be used for general information and consultation whilst another has been fitted out as a full mobile IT training suite.

The third vehicle is completely fitted out with commercial catering equipment and will be used to combine practical catering training with the provision of hospitality at venues. Giving students the experience of real field based catering.

APC the overnight parcels company
May 2010: The leading overnight parcels delivery company APC has just taken delivery of their new multi purpose Freeway exhibition / internal training vehicle, based upon a Mercedes cab. The vehicle features a rear entrance door and side opening gull wing to enable the vehicle to be used in closed mode for private training or open in exhibition mode at events.

Computer work station and freestanding seating are included as part of the interior fit out. A built in generator makes the vehicle fully self sufficient

New Trailtrek animal ambulance delivered to The Society for Abandoned Animals
May 2010: The Society for Abandoned Animals in south east Manchester has just taken delivery of their new Fiat Doblo animal ambulance which is fitted with twin dog cages and 9 small animal carrying baskets. Ideal for transporting a variety of small animals the ambulance will be used for general purpose transport and rescue work.

New vehicle built to demonstrate Vending machines
April 2010: An Indoor event at the NEC was the launch venue for a new Iveco Daily based demonstration and sampling vehicle for leading vending machine company Refreshment Systems. The new demonstration vehicle features a range of the company's vending machines, all of which are full working models dispensing samples drinks...and tasty they are!

The vehicle features a large glazed extension pod which provides an open interior in which cafe style seats and tables are arranged for sampling and discussion of the product range.

Following its launch event the vehicle will fulfil a very heavy roadshow commitment.

Exports to Holland and Spain
March 2010: Each year Freeway is actively involved in exporting exhibition trailers to European countries and 2010 has proven no exception. During the first quarter of the year exports have included trailers being shipped to Holland and to Spain.

Exhibition trailer completed for Anglia Fireplaces and Design Ltd
February 2010: Leading supplier of up market fireplaces and log burning stoves, Anglia Fireplaces and Design Ltd based near Cambridge have recently taken delivery of their new 6 metre demonstration trailer. Based on a turntable steer chassis this 6 metre trailer is fitted with hinged canopy and drop down platform.

The challenge here was to build the trailer in such a way that the all long burning stoves on board could be used simultaneously. It all works...but it does get rather warm on board! A great advantage for winter roadshow activity

New Lightweight articulated trailer completed
January 2010: A stunning 9 metre lightweight articulated trailer has just been launched by the University of Salford to provide a very wide roadshow service throughout the North West. The trailer features a glazed gull wing extension to the nearside with extension pod to the off side.

Inside this exhibition trailer has an open spacious design to allow it to be used for a wide range of functions. A small reception area with galley facilities is located on the neck.

Travelworld take delivery of 4 metre exhibition trailer
January 2010: Travelworld have purchased a superb second hand trailer form the extensive Freeways stock of used exhibition trailers. The 4 metre exhibition trailer is ideal for hospitality at outdoor events and will be used by the company on a roadshow promotional campaign throughout the country
