November 2007 - ICMAA European Neutering Campaign

mobile veterinary surgery

ICMAA the Netherlands based international animal rescue specialists have recently been contracted by a number of local authorities in Belgium to provide a wild cat neutering campaign.

Cambridgeshire based specialist vehicle converter, Freeway Trailers Ltd, was approached by the charity to advise on how to resolve the logistics of such a campaign.

The solution was a fully equipped mobile surgery.

Managing Director Raymond Stiles says "that having worked for a number of years with specialist animal welfare vehicle manufacturer, Animedic Ltd, we had no hesitation in working with that company to provide the charity with a great mobile veterinary surgery specifically built to suit their needs."

September 2007 - Environment Agency Floodline trailer

Sadly flooding has been in the news throughout 2007 for all the wrong reasons. Much has been made of the lack of warning and the Environment Agency in the East of England is to tackle this problem by greater promotion of their Floodline information service.

The Cambridgeshire based trailer manufacturer won the national tender to provide creative ideas and refurbishment of an existing Agency trailer. The contract required urgency to get the promotion up and running as quickly as possible and Trailtrek responded by rebuilding and rebranding the trailer within a very tight schedule.

Raymond Stiles, Managing Director says" Whilst the exhibition / information trailer will obviously not directly prevent flooding we certainly hope that more people will become aware of the information services available and thus be in a position to better protect their homes.

August 2007 - Two new trailers for Honda

A Cambridgeshire based exhibition trailer manufacturer has recently won a number of contracts for projects not directly connected with the exhibition market, but have recently been contracted to produce two new exiting light weight articulated exhibition trailers for Honda.

"Whilst our growing diversification has been successful and is always healthy for a growing business it was really good to win an important tender from a major international company" says Managing Director Raymond Stiles.

The two new trailers have been designed to link with one another via a large marquee structure, creating a "Honda Village". One of the trailers even contains spiral staircase leading to a roof viewing gallery.

Both trailers, although 10 metres in length, had to be built within strick weight limits for licence reasons. "A new chassis design and the use of new lightweight materials have enabled us to achieve much within a very limited weight allowance" says Stiles.

July 2007- Tour de France Grand Depart

The Grand Depart of the Tour de France in July may have been the start of the race but for the Cambridgeshire based company it was the end of a very successful year's promotional activity.

The company took on the task of promoting the start of the race in London by producing a large mobile promotional trailer and operating it throughout the south east of England for a full 12 month period.

At first people were quite incredulous, thinking there was some hoax or mistake. After all, how could the world famous French race actually start in England! Well it did and on July 7th an estimated 3 million spectators watched the UK leg of the tour which attracted an estimated £50 million to the London economy.

The exhibition trailer used to increase awareness of the race featured a hydraulically operated stage on which were displayed information panels and two cycle simulators. These being supported by a live act.

Raymond Stiles said"This innovative project demonstrates perfectly the power of mobile promotional activity within a marketing campaign.

July 2007 - Hospitality trailer at Jalsa Salana

www.exhibitiontrailer.co.uk moved into a new area of activity by helping Muslim Television Ahmadiyya provide world wide coverage of this years Annual Convention.

The company has never before been involved in broadcasting so there was a bit of a learning curver. "For this convention we supplied a double deck trailer to act as overall broadcasting headquarters" says Raymond Stiles.

"What was really amazing was to have the honour to be invited to attend as a guest at the opening ceremony. The Ahmadiyya community were so welcoming it was very hard to remeber we were actually working!"

June 2007 - Hard labour in quarry

exhibition trailer McCloskey

The Hillhead quarrying equipment show comes around every two years and is staged in a quarry in Derbyshire.

This years event proved to be a milestone in the companies history. Normally the company just designs and manufactrures exhibiton trailers. But at this years Hillhead the company hired a large double deck exhibtion trailer to Northermn Ireland based company McCloskey International.

The huge exhibition trailer provided a superb working environment for staff who worked hard for a week in what were appallingly wet weather conditions. Featuring a full catering kitchen and bar faciltites the trailer had public areas on two levels and a private office plus toilet facilties.

March 2007 - Flyin'Ryan on the road with Trailtrek

flyin' ryan

It's not everyday that you meet a man who's brave (or perhaps mad!?) enough to have created a career out of flying through the air with the greatest of ease....with a motorcycle.

But thats exactly what Flyin'Ryan does to enterntain crowds at events throughout the country.

This year found him with quite a dilema, for just before the start of the new season he discovered that the new vehicle he had purchased to convert into a motorhome and bike transporter was just too long for his needs.

All things considered there was only one solution and he turned to www.exhibitiontrailer.co.uk in St Neots, to ask their advice on shortening the vehicle. A few technical calculations and a swift "amputation" of the rear end quickly put Flyin' Ryan back on schedule and able to provide his first displays of the year on time.

" Our team build lots of exhibition trailers throughout each year and when things get tight they are always ready to volunteer to go out in the field to help at an event......but seeing what Ryan does was enough to get the job done before there was any need to ask if anyone wanted to help him at an event!" say Raymond Stiles.

January 2007 - Emergency makeover vehicle for Miss Sixty

vehicle miss sixty

The Miss Sixty Emergency Makeover Team recently took delivery of an ambulance converted by Freeway Trailers Ltd to provide full make over facilites.

The Cambridgeshire based firm, which designs and manufactures a wide range of exhibition trailers and vehicles faced one of its more unusual challenges recently.

"Normally we build everything from scratch" says Managing Director Raymond Stiles. "On this occassion we had to source an ambulance from the NHS and then convert it from medical to makeover use."

Whilst the budget was a modest one we had to find a vehicle in good condition and the right image for the promotional activity.
